VVV-FIX 2000
Two-component contact adhesive for rubber, rubber-to-metal, textiles for textiles and for connecting and repairing conveyor belts.
1. Rubber to rubber Both glued surfaces must be rubbed and brushed with dust residue before bonding. After grinding, avoid any contact between the abraded surfaces and the solvent. Prepare a mixture of glue and hardener. The mixing ratio is 30 g of hardener per 750 ml of VVV-FIX 2000 adhesive without chlorinated solvents. Apply the mixture to both glued surfaces and allow to dry for about 1 hour. Then apply the second layer of the mixture and allow to dry for about 20 minutes (until the surface is slightly sticky). Push both glued surfaces together and push firmly (wring or press).
2. Rubber to Metal Prepare the metal surface by grinding or sanding, and also grind the gum. Apply first layer of rubber / metal mixture, allow to dry for approx. 1 hour. To achieve better strength, it is recommended to paint the metal surface with Metal-Primer before applying the first layer of adhesive. Apply the second layer of the mixture to the rubber and metal and let it dry for about 20 minutes (until the surface is slightly sticky). Stick the two glued surfaces together and push the joint firmly (roll or press).
Glued rubber joint can be fully mechanically stressed after 24 hours. Partially, this joint can be mechanically strained after 8 hours, reaching approximately 80% of the conveyor belt's strength.
